What is Texas Election Results?
Texas Election Results is a free, searchable database of every statewide Texas election from 2006 to the present. It covers primaries, runoffs, general elections, special elections, and constitutional amendments — all with county-level breakdowns. The site is designed to make it easy to explore historical results, compare candidates, and track trends across election cycles.
Data Coverage
Coverage spans from 2006 to the present, including all statewide offices, legislative races, judicial races, State Board of Education, and constitutional amendment propositions. Results are available at both the statewide summary and individual county level.
Data Source
All election data is sourced from the Texas Secretary of State. Results published on this site reflect the unofficial returns made available by the SOS and may differ slightly from final canvassed totals.
How the Data Is Collected
Legacy elections (2006–2018): Imported from the Texas Secretary of State's historical election archive, which provides static result files for each election cycle.
Modern elections (2019–present): Imported from the current SOS results system, which publishes structured data for active and recent elections.
In both cases, county-level results are imported individually and aggregated to produce statewide totals. The import process normalizes candidate names, race titles, and party affiliations to ensure consistency across election cycles.
